Advancing education by fostering and promoting a knowledge of alpine plants within New Zealand and their cultivation and for that purpose to hold meetings and exhibitions, publish papers, books and journals, organise visits to rock and alpine gardens, field trips and generally to promote any activity that is consistent or will provide these objects. For the purposes of these rules “alpine plants" will mean all plants suitable for the rock garden, frame or alpine house, including woodland and or bulbous plants. The intention is to disseminate this knowledge among members and public by holding regular meetings, an annual show, various field trips regular newsletters and bulletins. Additionally conferences and study weekends will be run with international and national speakers.
