Maungakaramea Sports Club Incorporated

Promoting health and well being in the district, particularly among young people, by constructing, controlling and maintaining sport and recreation facilities for use by the members and the public. Working independently or with other organisations, such as schools, Sport Northland and the participating clubs to encourage participation in sport in the district by running events, facilitating activities and promoting sport and physical well being. Our vision is to provide and maintain recreational facilities to give people in the district the opportunity to engage with their community which is very important in a rural area. The club acts as an umbrella for Maungakaramea hockey and cricket clubs. The clubrooms are used by a wide sector of the community, for a wide variety of recreational purposes including quiz nights, movie nights, twilight hockey and netball. The club is a place where people can get together to engage in community activities with their families.
