Matuku Community Theatre Incorporated

3.1 The purposes of the Society are to: The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes (including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes), namely: a) To promote, foster and, encourage and provide facilities and carry out all activities related to amateur theatre for the benefit of the community, principally, but not exclusively in the area known as Christchurch Bays. b) To advance education in the community by providing assistance in the development of interested parties including children in theatre and performing arts. c) To build a sense of belonging in the community and promote social cohesion and opportunities to be actively involved in the provision of performing arts for the purposes of fundraising in the community. d) To make available within Matuku Takotako Sumner Centre a staged theatre with a high standard of facilities for the benefit of the community of performing arts.
