Mission: The overall ethos and vision of MRSS is to ensure the health, welfare, safety, stability and general wellbeing of all who live rurally in the outlying and isolated areas of the northern Manawatu, Pohangina Valley and Halcombe. The approach used to achieve this aim is by employing Rural Community Workers (RCW’s) who provide the free, mobile, visit-in-the-home/work-based service to rural individuals, families and communities, and to work alongside and support schools and community groups. By forming trusting relationships: • MRSS RCW’s endeavour to empower and support, prior to any crisis developing in peoples’ lives. • Our RCWs visit and work alongside the farming community • The RCWs also have extremely sound and well respected relationships with those just living rurally - life style block owners as well as those living rurally for cheaper rents. • Our RCW’s promote community connectedness for individuals and groups
