Mission
The VRFF undertake fire prevention measures & respond to (extinguish) fires in vegetation within their designated area of responsibility for the benefit of the community. They are qualified 1st responders, providing medical assistance. They provide a secure safe landing site for the Life Flight chopper & assist with traffic control. Where practicable, they assist other Fire Forces under the control of Fire & Emergency NZ.
