Mission: To encourage appreciation of good Music by 1. The performance by members and Visiting Artists of vocal and instrumental works by composers with the reputation of being classical", and particularly (but not exclusively) the internationally recognized Great Composers 2. The performance by members and Visiting Artists of an individual or instrumental work which, of its own reputation, is international regarded as being a "classic" of its type, irrespective of the general standing of its composer. 3. Arranging performances and discussions by non-member individuals and ensembles. 4. Promotion of choral singing and instrument playing within the Society 5. Providing opportunities for young people to perform in concerts. With the Objectives in mind, there shall be various types of programmes, including Monthly Concert meetings, with an appointed programme organiser (Convenor) for each such meeting A substantial part of each Monthly Concert should satisfy Objectives 1 and /or 2 above.
