Ākau Limited

ĀKAU’s vision is to create thriving communities in Aotearoa where every young person has meaningful participation, a sense of purpose and belonging. ĀKAU does this by engaging young people, whānau and communities in real projects in their own community. ĀKAU Limited uses a collaborative, community based approach to design, engaging taitamariki, whānau and the wider community in developing design solutions for community needs, educating them in the design process & strengthening community connections. By offering reduced-rate or pro-bono professional services for community projects ĀKAU also improves access to these services for marginalised community groups. ĀKAU Limited also supports the educational activities of the ĀKAU Foundation by securing real projects for taitamariki to be involved in and delivering these projects through to completion. Any surplus generated by ĀKAU Limited will be used to support the activities of the ĀKAU Foundation.
