Mission: The Karekare Surf Club was established over 85 years ago in 1935 to provide a lifesaving service to the members of the public visiting Karekare after a dramatic sea rescue. It was formed by members of the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club who had been at the beach and witnessed the incident. Whilst alot has changed over the years in terms of lifesaving the main purpose of our club is still the same, to save lives. Our mission is to maintain public safety and save lives at Karekare and the greater west coast/Whatipu area.
