Act as the National Committee for Aotearoa New Zealand members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and promote ICOM and its activities, ethics and principles in Aotearoa New Zealand; Promote Museums as public institutions in the service of society; Strengthen the Museum sector in Aotearoa New Zealand by building capacity through professional connections and collaborations, and the promotion of international best practice by Museums.
