1). To educate and promote the educational and community awareness of diabetes. 2). To provide for the education of community and ongoing education needs of medical practitioners involved in the treatment of diabetes in Lower Hutt. 3). To improve knowledge of and the detection of diabetes and support relevant research in Lower Hutt. 4). To provide the purchase of equipment, books, scientific journals concerning diabetes and to support people suffering from diabetes and to attempt to improve, heal and maintain people with diabetes and enhance the quality of care for people with diabetes
