Hukarere Old Girls Association Trust
About
Hukarere Old Girls Association Trust is a charitable trust which operates in accordance with it objectives to support the operations of Hukarere Girls College Napier. The school has relocated to Havelock North following Cyclone Gabrielle. The trust was primarily established to manage the reconstruction of the school chapel, which was dismantled when the school's former site on Napier Terrace, Napier, was sold. The school reestablished to Esk Valley and was resident there from 2003 to 2023. During this time the Old Girls Association Trust fund-raised for the chapel. During 2022 the Te Aute Trust Board decided the chapel project should be put on hold. Shortly after that in February 2023, Cyclone Gabrielle flooded the site and the school evacuated. A search for a new site commenced. The objects of the Trust are wider than the chapel reestablishment and the Association has turned its attention to supporting the reestablishment of the school and hostel on the Havelock North site.
