Hinengakau Maatua Whangai

Maatua Whangai was established in Taumarunui in 1983 and was incorporated as Hinengakau Maatua Whangai Trust in 1995 under the Charitable Trust Act 1957 and is now registering with the Charities Commission under the Charities Act 2005. Its role is to provide support and assistance to whanau/families of Te Kuiti, Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi. Vision Statement: Hinengakau Maatua Whangai Trust will be an astute, politically aware, socially responsible and financially capable deliverer of value. Our business is empowerment, active support and transformation. We will be a catalyst for long term positive change in our community. Mission Statement: We are in the business of manaakitanga - caring and serving the community and its most vulnerable people. Our mission is to embrace people's heart and minds and support them to become the best they can be... given their individual needs and personal situation.
