The purpose of the trust is to organise and coordinate the raising of community awareness and understanding about the Treaty of Waitangi and to mark Waitangi Day (6 February) in Tauranga by initiating and facilitating appropriate ceremonies, celebrations and other activities to mark the importance of our national day in Tauranga City and the Western Bay of Plenty (WBOP).
