To apply the income arising from the Trust in to research work which may at any time or times be undertaken or carried on by or under the supervision or control of the University of Otago into the nature cause and cure of diseases and ailments of the human body and that primary and particular consideration be given to research into the cure of cancer and diseases of the heart and kidneys and that any part of such income which may not in any year be applied by the trustees in manner aforesaid shall accrue and be added to the capital of the trust fund but with full power and authority for the Trustees to resort to and apply any income so capitalised as part of the net income of the trust fund in any subsequent year or years and to apply the same accordingly.
