Geoscience Society of NZ Incorporated

(a) To encourage the advancement of geosciences. (b) To serve as a means of facilitating communication and cooperation among members, and other bodies. (c) To investigate and report on matters of general interest to New Zealand geoscientists. (d) To investigate and report on matters of geoscience that concern members of the general public, and local and territorial statutory bodies. (e) To serve as a channel for the expression of the views of New Zealand geoscientists. (f) To hold and sponsor conferences and other scientific meetings and meetings of Subcommittees, local Branches and Special Interest Groups. (g) To support Tertiary Students and Early Career Geoscientists in their research and to attend geoscience conferences and meetings, by approving Awards and Prizes through the medium of the geological Awards Trust (Inc). (h) To encourage and give recognition to high standards of geoscientific research. (i) To seek the preservation of important geoscientific sites.
