About
Our purpose is to use our resources to ensure urgent care and attention is given to all equine in need who do not have an owner, or person in charge of them meeting their needs. Our intention is to operate in accord of the 5 Freedoms of Animal Welfare. 1) Freedom from hunger and thirst 2) Freedom from discomfort 3) Freedom from pain, injury and disease 4) Freedom to behave naturally 5) Freedom from fear and distress. We also provide education services and support to a wide range of community sectors in the care and management of equines. Providing educational programmes for students of all ages, neurodiversity, and community. This includes education and support for new owners, owners needing assistance with health and wellbeing challenges, breeding/reproduction challenges. Providing education and support to assocs. and orgs. that are involved in the transition of horses leaving competitive careers through retirement or non-performance, incl. internat'l competitive horses retiring in NZ
