To promote recognition, understanding, co-operation, and education of children and adults with specific learning disabilities (SLD) in the local and wider community, including schools, health organizations and relevant government agencies. To support and advise families whose members are affected by SLD and others involved in their education. To provide, co-ordinate and facilitate assessments and teachers for people with dyslexia and other SLDs. To provide other support and assistance that is conducive to the purposes of the Society as the Executive Committee shall determine from time to time. To promote, encourage and protect the interests of the organization's members generally.
