The purpose of the trust is charitable and is deemed not to include or extend to any matter or thing which is or is held or determined to be non-charitable, and the powers and purposes of the board and trust are restricted accordingly and limited to New Zealand. Specifically, the purposes of the trust are the advancement and education in the Buddhist philosophy and teachings for the public benefit.
