Mission: As an affiliate of the Foundation For The Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT):- 1. TO provide authentic Mahayana Buddhist teachings and an environment conducive to the practice of those teachings within New Zealand in accordance with FPMT spiritual programmes and practices. 2. TO establish centres and schools where Mahayana Buddhist teachings will be given in New Zealand. 3. TO bring to New Zealand teachers of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism of the lineage derived from Guru Shakyamuni Buddha, and particularly that passed through Atisha down to Tsong-ka-pa (Geluk lineage). 4. TO assist finance or support any charitable organisation or activity in New Zealand of a nature in harmony with Buddhist principles. 5. TO exist as a Buddhist Community serving the needs of the community in the surrounding region by whatever means and in whatever ways possible – spiritually, materially and educationally.
