Community Housing Trust

1. To help to regenerate Canterbury, to build and strengthen the Canterbury community and to help alleviate the critical housing shortage in Canterbury by promoting and supporting the development of land and construction of affordable housing. 2. To strengthen social cohesion and the sense of community in Christchurch and in other communities in Canterbury through the development of land and construction of affordable housing resulting in growth in the population of those communities and in particular, increasing numbers of families in the communities and in doing so, filling schools, increasing the use of community facilities such as libraries, parks and local shopping centres and generally enlivening and revitalising those communities, 3. To promote and support research, education and training regarding the construction of affordable and energy efficient housing in New Zealand.
