To promote effective and enthusiastic teaching of health care for the older persons in a wide variety of disciplines and in the community; To work towards the establishment and support of an academic department of health care for the older persons. To promote research in the health care of the older persons; To promote and maintain the health and status of the older persons in Canterbury both in the community and in institutions.
