Bay of Islands Walkways and Walking Trust

The Trust’s aims to: • Construct and maintain the Okiato-Russell (Bay of Islands Walkway) other off road walking and cycle tracks for public use • Promote the Bay of Islands Walkway and other walking tracks as leisure routes and nature trails • Undertake appropriate ecological management for lands and waterways adjoining the Bay of Islands Walkway and other walking tracks • Organise and provide logistical support for walking trips and recover the costs on an equitable basis. • Develop and install education/ interpretation signage along any walkway constructed by the Trust
