Mission: To encourage, foster and promote the practice and appreciation of sports in Awanui and its environs for the peoples of Te Hiku and their competitors. Achieved. We have maintained all sporting codes, and increased social membership and club sponsorships. In addition rugby won the North Zone Senior Championship and Mangonui competitions, the pool teams maintained their status in their local competitions finishing in top place. To do what the Society considers necessary in order to stimulate sporting activities, including subscribing and becoming a member of any other club, whose objectives are altogether or in part, similar to those of the society. Achieved over the last financial year, providing a venue for Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, who train regularly and our Gym Membership is growing. To maintain the buildings, facilities and grounds for the pursuit of Sports. The ASC has had all field drainage, piping cleaned and arranged a contractor to clean out field boundary drains.
