Mission: The purpose of Athletics Northland is to carry on track and field, cross country, road running and walking within the district which is declared by Athletics New Zealand, and to exercise all powers and to perform all duties vested in and imposed by the said rules and to further and encourage athletics in any way that it considers necessary and desirable. The centre is responsible for organising and implementing all athletic championships in Northland. These relate to athletes from the age of 7 through to Masters. We consist of all affiliated clubs within the Northland region which incorporates all clubs from Cape Reinga to Wellsford.We support the fundraising and organising of events, mainly for junior athletes, to enable them to compete in other areas of New Zealand. As we are geographically isolated, it is important to encourage athletes to compete outside our region and encourage events that bring outside athletes into our area.
