About
To provide support for people with dementia, their families and friends. To educate and inform the public, and the medical and helping professionals, of the problems associated with dementia. To stimulate research and improve the management of dementia. To raise government and community awareness and encourage action by highlighting the needs of people with dementia and their relatives. To accept and honour the Treaty of Waitangi as the basis of the relationship between Maori and non Maori and to recognise the differing needs of all cultures. To contract with health organisations and funders to provide services to persons with dementia. To employ Community Support Officers and administrators to organise and facilitate activities furthering the Societys purpose. To do all things as may seem to the Society to be incidental or conducive to the achievement of the Society's aims, including the raising and application of funds for such purposes.
