Alastair balances his professional life between board roles and leading a consultancy specialising in business and investment projects. He is an elected Trustee of Entrust, chairing the Entrust board's Regulation and Policy Committee. He is a director of New Zealand Post Limited and KiwiRail Holdings Limited. Formerly, he was deputy chair of Foundation North and a trustee of the Motutapu Restoration Trust.
