Edward Weller Ellison

Edward Ellison ONZM is of Ngāi Tahu and Te Atiawa descent, a highly respected kaumātua and farmer on the Otago Peninsula with lengthy involvement in environmental and iwi kaupapa. He is an accredited Hearings Commissioner with experience in a wide range of RMA processes in the South Island. He received a New Zealand Order of Merit in 2015 for services to Māori and heritage preservation, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from University of Otago in 2025.
