About CharityData NZ
CharityData NZ is New Zealand's independent charity transparency platform. We analyse publicly available data from the Charities Register and charity annual returns to provide donors with the information they need to make informed giving decisions.
Our rating methodology (v3.0) evaluates charities across three key dimensions:
- Financial Health - Program spending ratios, fundraising efficiency, and reserve levels
- Governance - Board composition, oversight quality, and governance abuse indicators
- Transparency - Disclosure quality, reporting timeliness, and data availability
Data sourced from the New Zealand Charities Register and charity public disclosures.
