(3) VUWSA recognises Māori as Tangata Whenua of Aotearoa and will act in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi/The Treaty of Waitangi. VUWSA acknowledges Ngāi Tauira o te Kura Wānanga o te Upoko ō te Ika a Māui as the official representatives of Māori students on campus. (4) The goals of the Association are: (a) Goal 1 - Education Quality: To ensure that the University provides the best teaching and learning, research opportunities, assessment and training to students. (b) Goal 2 - Student Support: To advocate for adequate financial support, income and welfare for students.
