Aims: ThroughBlue is established to carry out the following aims: - To provide a low cost, supportive, non-judgemental, accepting, safe environment for depressed women and women vulnerable to depression. - To provide qualified, supervised facilitators to run a support group. - To provide a weekly support group with the option for women to come to the meetings when it is appropriate for them; a fixed time commitment is not required for attendance. - To encourage learning of self-help strategies by providing an educational discussion topic at each group meeting. - To revise the group rules or agreement whenever appropriate to provide safety for all group members. - To promote awareness in the broader community of the purpose and meetings of the group. - To regularly evaluate the success of the group. - To do anything else that will advance any of these aims, including organising childcare when necessary."
