Children attend sessions with their parents or caregivers who form a parent co-operative to providing quality educational experiences for the children and day to day management of the Playcentre. Playcentre is for whanau/families. The parent co-operative provides support and friendship for all families involved. Parents receive free education through the Playcentre adult education programme. Playcentre is for Communities. The skills learnt by parents attending Playcentre are transferrable to the home environment, other community organisations and the workplace. The friendships made and skills learn last a life time and strengthen and enrich communities. Playcentre nationwide have a commitment to biculturalism and honour Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
